My daughter told me they were taught to give a couple of horizontal cuts when dicing onions.
I never cut an onion and we hardly use it at all, but I thought the horizontal cut doesn't make any sense. We checked a lot of videos and all of them came with horizontal cuts. You can imagine how excited I was when seeing Charlie dicing onion nicely without horizontal cuts.
So Charlie Palmer is the only chef who knows how onion looks like, the others most likely mocked wrong birds... haha!
